In a statement made on the social media account of the Directorate of Communications , it was stated that "The claim that 'Istanbul Police assigned 32,500 police officers to the stadium and its surroundings for the Galatasaray - Fenerbahçe derby', which appeared in some press and media outlets and was shared on social media, is not true. Istanbul Police Department assigned 10,030 personnel, not 32,500, to the stadium and its surroundings as part of the security measures taken for the football match between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe teams on February 24. Do not believe in unfounded claims aimed at misleading the public."
