Sharia law is coming to the economy

Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek claimed that the future of the world is in Islamic financing. Speaking at the 2nd Istanbul World Islamic Economy Summit, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek said, "We are currently primarily preparing the Islamic Financing Law and working to bring it to the agenda of the Parliament."

Şimşek, who praised the status of participation banking, called "Islamic banking", especially Gulf capital, in Turkey, said the following about the draft law : "There were some issues in the draft text that needed to be corrected, we are working on these issues meticulously. We do not want to include articles in the law that the sector will not adopt or that may cause problems in practice."

ERDOGAN'S LONGING FOR INTEREST-FREE

Speaking at the same summit, AKP President Tayyip Erdoğan also expressed his "longing for an interest-free economy" in his speech. Speaking at the summit, Erdoğan said, "I will continue to voice my longing for an interest-free economy with a loud voice."
