Joint concert by Turkish and Greek communists

World-renowned Greek intellectual and composer Mikis Theodorakis will be commemorated on his 100th birthday with events organized by the Communist Party of Turkey and the Communist Party of Greece.
Artists from Greece and Turkey will perform Theodorakis's compositions together in events to be held in Chios and Izmir by the Communist Party of Turkey ( TKP ) and the Communist Party of Greece (YKP).
At the event in Izmir, audience members will be greeted by TKP Secretary General Kemal Okuyan and YKP Political Bureau Member Nikos Sofianos. The Izmir event will begin at 7:00 PM on September 21st at Bostanlı Democracy Square.
The statement regarding the concerts from TKP was as follows:
We are hosting a meaningful event on the 100th birthday of the important Greek intellectual and composer Mikis Theodorakis, who presented humanity with numerous unforgettable works and always proudly carried his communist identity throughout his life.
Artists from Greece and Turkey will perform Theodorakis's compositions together at events organized by the Communist Party of Turkey and the Communist Party of Greece in Chios and Izmir.
