Başakşehir Şamlar Family Health Center opened for service

The Family Health Center, which was completed in the Şamlar Neighborhood of the Başakşehir district of Istanbul, was opened with a ceremony. The center, which was built under the coordination of the Istanbul Governorship and by the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate with the contribution of the Başakşehir Municipality and philanthropists, became the 1096th Family Health Center in Istanbul.
The opening ceremony was attended by Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, Istanbul Provincial Health Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Emre Güner, Başakşehir Mayor Yasin Kartoğlu, healthcare professionals, institution directors and citizens. After the ceremony, protocol members toured the family health center and planted a commemorative sapling in the center's garden. Istanbul Governor Gül attended the ceremony with a domestically produced Togg brand vehicle.
"We aim to open 100 new centers in Istanbul by the end of the year"Speaking at the opening, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül said, "We have modern hospitals all around Istanbul. However, in order to reduce hospital density, we have to increase the number of Family Health Centers that provide services at the neighborhood level. We aim to open 100 new centers in Istanbul by the end of the year."

Prof. Dr. Abdullah Emre Güner thanked Başakşehir Mayor Yasin Kartoğlu for his support in the field of health, saying, "In 2002, there were only 212 health centers, today this number has reached 1096. The hospital bed capacity has exceeded 45 thousand, the rooms are now as comfortable as a hotel. Istanbul has become a center for health that accepts patients from all over the world."
Başakşehir Mayor Yasin Kartoğlu said in his speech, "This center, which was brought to Şamlar Neighborhood, is a product of unity of hearts. We are working with all our might to bring new health investments to every neighborhood of our district. We will increase the health service capacity per capita in a short time."
Following the speeches, the ribbon was cut, a prayer was made, and the center was opened for service.
