Ali Babacan's statement on the KKM: The nation paid the price

DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan made evaluations regarding the Central Bank's termination of the Currency Protected Deposit ( CPD ) application.

Recalling his speech on December 21, 2021, Babacan said, "I warned the day the Currency-Protected Deposit Scheme was first announced: 'The winners of these decisions will be the wealthy, while our low-income citizens, tradesmen, farmers, and civil servants will pay the price.' I also said, 'This project is a project to inflate inflation and bankrupt the treasury.'"

"Only interest and free printed money remain"

Babacan stated that the practice was terminated after three years, saying, "After billions of dollars were diverted from citizens' pockets and transferred to wealthy individuals, this mistake was finally rectified three years later. All that remained of this practice, which was presented as a brilliant invention, were the interest payments and the money printed without backing. The economy of this great and beautiful country became a trial-and-error platform."
