A commemoration ceremony was held at the July 15 Martyrs' Memorial

On the 9th anniversary of the treacherous July 15th coup attempt, a commemoration ceremony and Quran recitation was held at the July 15th Martyrs' Memorial. Attendees included Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Enes Eminoğlu, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, First Army Commander General Metin Tokel, Northern Sea Area Commander Vice Admiral Mustafa Kaya, Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General Yusuf Kenan Topcu, Istanbul Security Director Selami Yıldız, Istanbul Mufti Prof. Dr. Safi Arpaguş, Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Hüseyin Keskin, Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Muhittin Özbay, families of martyrs, veterans, and many other participants. The ceremony, which began with a Quran recitation by Büyük Çamlıca Mosque Imam Yunus Balcıoğlu, concluded with a prayer by Istanbul Mufti Prof. Dr. Safi Arpaguş for the martyrs.

The monument will continue to host many visitors throughout the day.
