719 firsts in LGS 2025 created controversy: A motion was submitted to the Parliament, and politicians issued a statement!

The results of the centralized exam, part of the High School Entrance System ( LGS ), announced yesterday, revealed an unexpected picture for the education world. The fact that 719 successful candidates answered all the questions correctly surprised both candidates and educators. Comments following the exam stated that the questions were "equivalent to university entrance exams and very difficult," and that a small number of successful candidates were predicted. However, on June 15th, 963,142 candidates took the exam and 719 successful candidates were selected, breaking a record in LGS history.
CHP CARRIED IT TO PARLIAMENTThe Republican People's Party ( CHP ) brought the issue to Parliament. CHP Deputy Chairman and Istanbul MP Suat Özçağdaş claimed that the first session booklet of the exam was shared in PDF format in a WhatsApp group in Bursa while the exam was still in progress, and that the second session booklet was circulated in a school group in Istanbul at 11:58 a.m.
Özçağdaş submitted a parliamentary question to the Ministry of National Education, demanding answers to the following questions: What is the distribution of the 719 students by province and school? Who shared the booklets, and has any legal action been taken against them? Doesn't the fact that the booklets are being distributed in PDF format indicate a breach of exam security? Why didn't the Ministry take the necessary precautions?
İNCE AND DAVUTOĞLU'S 'LGS' EXITThe 2025 LGS was on the agenda of politicians. Muharrem İnce, who recently rejoined the CHP, said, "Something stinks from the Ministry of National Education's LGS. A record number of 719 students topped the exam, which was said to be the most difficult in the last five years. We expect the Ministry of National Education to make an immediate statement. From which provinces and schools are these top-ranked students?"
Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu, regarding allegations regarding the High School Entrance Exam (LGS) held on June 15, 2025, said, "Allegations of irregularities in the High School Entrance Exam (LGS) taken by our middle school children are undermining the trust of both our children and their families in our state. In particular, the striking increase in the number of top students receiving full scores, coupled with the debates surrounding the answer to a question, have led to various questions and allegations in the public."
