5 people detained in relation to forest fires in Balıkesir

The fire extinguishing efforts continue for the forest fire that started yesterday at noon in the forest area in Sarıfakılar Neighborhood of Kepsut and the forest fire that broke out in the rural area between Kalburcu Neighborhood and Yeniköy Neighborhood of Bigadiç district.

Balıkesir Forestry Regional Directorate and Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department teams continue their work in the fire area, where Kepsut District Governor Tarık Yerlikaya is also inspecting.

While teams are trying to put out the flames with water trucks, they are also working hard to stop the fire with dozers.

According to AA, during the investigations conducted by gendarmerie teams regarding the cause of the fire, it was determined that 5 people were operating the combine harvester under unsuitable conditions. The procedures of the 5 people who were detained are continuing at the gendarmerie.
