RFU President Alexander Dyukov, speaking to journalists after the Super Cup match between CSKA and Krasnodar (1:0), said that he highly values the chances of Russian teams returning to official competitions before the end of 2025.
He recalled that he had recently spoken about the possibility of Russian clubs returning to European football, citing “various sources and intuition.”
“There is a high probability that Russia will be returned before the end of 2025,” he said.
Russian clubs and national teams have not participated in official tournaments since the winter of 2022 by decision of FIFA and UEFA. In March of this year, Dyukov noted that the number of countries opposing Russia's return to the international arena is becoming smaller.
