The interregional regatta of cruising yachts "Kandalaksha Gulf Cup 2025" started in the year


This is a series of races in which ORC class cruising yachts (Ocean Racing Congress - an international organization that defines requirements and develops competition rules for open sea yachts) take part. The races take place in the waters of the Kandalaksha Gulf of the White Sea and the regatta distances repeatedly cross the Arctic Circle. The yachts participating in the regatta are equipped and designed to be ready to withstand the harsh weather conditions of the Arctic with limited ability to receive outside assistance. The regatta is attended by 15 yachts with combined crews from the Karelian Chupa, Petrozavodsk, Kandalaksha, Polyarnye Zori, Kirovsk, Apatity, Murmansk, Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod. The regatta is supported by the Sailing Federation of the Republic of Karelia, the Sports Training Center of the Republic of Karelia, the All-Russian Sailing Federation, the Association of the class ORC. The host organization and main sponsor of the competition is the Chupinsky Marine Yacht Club, the chief judge is the first category judge Marina Andreevna Turusinova (Arkhangelsk). The competition began in Karelskaya Chupa and at present the racers have completed the 3rd stage in Pomor Umba. The northern changeable weather threw up surprises from calm to storm.
