Russian goalie Nabokov signs contract with Colorado Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche have announced the signing of Russian goalie Ilya Nabokov to a two-year contract. The 22-year-old goalie joins the NHL after a successful season with Metallurg Magnitogorsk, where he won the Gagarin Cup and was named the playoff MVP.
Last season, Nabokov demonstrated high reliability, stopping 92.3% of shots in 49 games of the KHL regular championship. In the playoffs, his figure was 92%. The goalie was selected by the Colorado club under the 38th number in the 2024 NHL draft.
