Russian goalkeeper of Paris Saint-Germain Matvey Safonov received a black eye during the celebration of the club's victory in the Champions League. The Russian goalkeeper reported this on his Telegram channel.

“I was so happy that I got a black eye,” the footballer commented on the video, showing off his black eye and the champion’s gold medal.

Safonov became the fifth Russian footballer to win the Champions League. He was included in the squad for the game, but did not take to the field.

The 2024/2025 UEFA Champions League final between PSG and Inter was held at the Allianz Arena in Munich. The main referee for the match was Romanian referee Istvan Kovacs. PSG won a big 5-0 victory.
