More than 8,000 South Uralians passed the GTO standards as part of a traveling festival

The large-scale traveling festival "Chelyabinsk Region - a Big Family" has successfully ended in the region. Its sports program has attracted great interest from the South Urals residents: more than 8,000 people have completed the standards of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex "Ready for Labor and Defense" (GTO).
Over three months, the festival visited 45 settlements in the region, and a special GTO site was organized in each. The greatest activity was demonstrated by residents of Zlatoust, where more than 550 people came to test their physical fitness.
The final events of the festival took place in Chelyabinsk. For the city residents, not only testing according to the GTO standards was organized, but also master classes in boxing and taekwondo, active games and an autograph session of the six-time Russian boxing champion Edmond Khudoyan, who also passed the standards of the complex.
As part of the closing ceremony, the regional sports minister Vladimir Ivanov presented ten Chelyabinsk residents with gold GTO badges of distinction, and also awarded the most athletic family in Russia – the Kozhukhov family.
