FC Sochi beat Paris NN and returned to the RPL

FC Sochi beat Paris Nizhny Novgorod in the play-off match for the right to participate in the Russian Premier League (RPL) in the 2025/26 season.

The match, which took place at the Sovcombank Arena stadium, ended with a score of 3:1 in favor of the Sochi team.

The author of the first goal was Kirill Zaika, who opened the scoring in the 21st minute. At the end of the first half, Martin Kramaric doubled his team's advantage by scoring the second goal. The Nizhny Novgorod team was able to reduce the gap thanks to an accurate strike by Juan Bosella.

Thus, following the results of two meetings, Sochi won with a total score of 4:3 and earned a ticket to the RPL.

Pari Nizhny Novgorod finished 13th in the RPL, having scored only 27 points in 30 matches. Sochi, which took fifth place in the First League table, got a chance to fight for promotion to a class, since Chernomorets, which is in third place, did not pass the licensing for participation in the RPL.
