A magnetic storm continues on Earth for the third day due to solar wind.

The magnetic storm that began on Earth three days ago continues to impact the planet. According to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the geomagnetic storm, which has been ongoing with short interruptions for over 50 hours, remains at a moderate intensity, periodically reaching level G3, which is classified as a strong event.
The main reason for this prolonged magnetospheric disturbance is the extremely high solar wind speed, which consistently remains at 700-800 kilometers per second and occasionally reaches 900 km/s. Experts note that the current situation is exacerbated by a combination of two factors: the effects of recent increased flare activity and the powerful impact of a large coronal hole, into whose zone of influence Earth entered last night.
As of Thursday morning, there were no positive signs of stabilization. However, scientists are raising the possibility of improvement in the next day or two. They say that if no new major solar flares or direct plasma emissions occur during this time, a noticeable weakening of the magnetic storm can be expected. Until then, weather-sensitive individuals are advised to pay closer attention to their health, and specialists are advised to monitor the condition of power systems and the orbital satellite constellation.
