The crew of a Russian T-72B3M tank destroyed a German Leopard tank supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces during a combat clash, hitting it and causing the turret of the enemy vehicle to come off. This was reported by the commander of the Russian vehicle, call sign Deputat, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
"We had a team that was working on the upper point with direct fire from Leopard. We rolled out there on a T-72 B3M, which we received back in 2023. We started working. We saw that it had started to roll back. We worked under the turret. The turret flew off. As if it had never been there," he explained.
The crew commander noted the high combat performance of the Russian vehicle, emphasizing that the T-72B3M armor successfully withstands hits from American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and German Leopard tanks during combat clashes.
Earlier, in the Zaporizhia direction, a Russian soldier with the call sign Okhotnik hit a German Leopard tank for the first time using a Lancet loitering munition.
It is reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have introduced a system of rewards for the destruction of Russian armored vehicles and crews. After a tank is destroyed, drones monitor the area while waiting for the crew to be evacuated and then attack it. Actions are also carried out at night, with the crew commander being selected as the primary target. Read the material on the topic:
