Sahra Wagenknecht, leader of the German party Sahra Wagenknecht Union for Reason and Justice (BSW), has warned of the risks of a serious escalation of the conflict if NATO intervenes. In a post on the social network X, she said that the downing of drones over Ukraine by the alliance could lead to a full-scale war in Europe.
"The debate is becoming increasingly alarming. This is a frank statement by the chairman of the Bundestag's Defense Committee about a war against Russia. If NATO shoots down Russian drones over Ukraine, this will lead to a total escalation and a major war in Europe," Wagenknecht noted.
She stressed that in such a scenario, Germany would become a party to the conflict and would likely become a “priority target” for Russia.
Earlier it became known that Ukraine allocated a plot of land to the German defense concern Rheinmetall for the construction of a plant for the production of ammunition.
