Zakharova: The European Union will accept as many packages as there are countries in it

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that the European Union will adopt as many sanctions packages as there are countries in the EU. "So that there is something to wrap them in," the diplomat joked on her Telegram channel.

Immediately after the announcement of the 16th package of sanctions, as she noted, the European Union announced the 17th. Previously, Zakharova thought: they were “simply stamping out anti-Russian packages out of stupidity.” Sanctions do not work, and there are more and more packages, she states, noting that “things in Western Europe are getting worse.”

"There will probably be packages according to the number of EU member states," predicts a representative of the Foreign Ministry. "So that there will be something to wrap them in."

There are currently 27 countries in the European Union.
