Natalya Manturova and Olga Kobyakova were elected corresponding members of the RAS

The total number of members of the Academy after the vote remained the same as in 2022 - 2,154 people; in the Department of Medical Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 31 positions of Corresponding Members of the Russian Academy of Sciences and 20 positions of Academicians were vacant.
The following were elected as academicians: Director of the National Medical Research Center of Endocrinology Natalia Mokrysheva, Director of the N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute Sergei Petrikov, Rector of the Donetsk National Medical University named after M. Gorky Grigory Ignatenko, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at RUDN, Vice President of the Russian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Viktor Radzinsky, Director of the Institute of Electronic Medical Education, Professor of the Department of Radiation Diagnostics and Radiation Therapy of the Medical Faculty of Sechenov University Natalia Serova, Deputy Director for Research at the Scientific Center of Neurology Marine Tanashyan.
In addition to them, the title of academicians was received by the head of the spinal department of the N.N. Burdenko National Medical Research Center of Neurosurgery Nikolay Konovalov, deputy director for scientific and innovative work, head of the Urology Clinic of the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology Vsevolod Matveyev, deputy director of the Central Research Institute of Cardiovascular and Maxillofacial Surgery, professor of the Department of Dentistry at Sechenov University Ramaz Gvetadze, chief specialist in general medical practice of the Moscow Department of Health Viktor Fomin, head of the Endoprosthetics Clinic based at the N.N. Priorov Central Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics and Nikolay Zagorodniy.
In the section of medical and biological sciences, the following were elected as academicians: Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of the National Research University Higher School of Economics Alexander Tonevitsky, Head of the Sports Medicine Clinic of the Moscow Scientific and Practical Center for Medical Rehabilitation, Restorative, and Sports Medicine of the Health Department Victoria Badtieva, Head of the Department of Molecular Immunology, Infectology, and Pharmacotherapy of the Dmitry Rogachev National Medical Research Center for Pediatric Hematology and Immunology Alexey Tutelyan, Director of the V.V. Zakusov Research Institute of Pharmacology Andrey Durnev, and Head of the Bioinformatics Department of the V.N. Orekhovich Institute of Biomedical Chemistry Vladimir Poroikov.
In the section of preventive medicine, the honorary title was received by Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology of Sechenov University Oksana Svitich, Director of the Federal Scientific and Clinical Center for Resuscitation and Rehabilitation Andrey Grechko, Director of the All-Russian Research Institute of Transport Hygiene of Rospotrebnadzor Mikhail Vilk, Head of the Department of Microbiology and Virology of RUDN Mikhail Mikhailov.
The chief freelance plastic surgeon of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Natalia Manturova was elected as a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the rector of the Samara State Medical University Alexander Kolsanov and the director of the Central Research Institute of Oncology and Immunology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Olga Kobyakova were elected to the vacancy of a corresponding member with an age limit. In addition to them, the following became corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Yuri Starkov, Vladimir Chaika, Konstantin Popugaev, Vladimir Khominets, Mikhail Gordeev, Konstantin Loktionov, Fedor Losev, Natalia Semikoz, Boris Alekseev, Aleksey Drobyshev, Gagik Galstyan, Elena Gnedovskaya and Marina Khomushiya.
In the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Evgeny Grigoryev, Vyacheslav Ryabov, Igor Lebedev and Alexander Romanov were elected as Corresponding Members. In the Section of Medical and Biological Sciences, Elena Ponomarenko, Anatoly Kubyshkin, Alla Salmina and Ivan Yurov were elected. In the Section of Preventive Medicine, Goar-Nana Pogosova, Valery Barchukov, Nailya Zigangirova, Pavel Kraynyukov and Alexander Kuzin were elected. In the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Mikhail Shchelkanov became a Corresponding Member.
Six foreign members were also elected to the Department of Medical Sciences: Milovan Bojić from Serbia, Baofeng Yang from China, Grigorios Girotziafas from France, Lyazzat Yeraliyeva from Kazakhstan, Ismail Elalami from Morocco and Omor Kasymov from Kyrgyzstan.
The vacancies from the Department of Medical Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences were nominated by 64 and 163 candidates, respectively. Among the candidates for academicianship, among others, were the former head of the S.M. Kirov Military Medical Academy and deputy head of the Era Technopolis Alexander Fisun, the first vice-rector of Sechenov University Andrei Svistunov and others. The title of corresponding member was claimed by the director of the Moscow Multidisciplinary Clinical Center Kommunarka Denis Protsenko, the chief pediatric surgeon of the Russian Ministry of Health and former head of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection Dmitry Morozov, the general director of the Center for Expertise and Quality Control of Medical Care Vitaly Omelyanovsky, the vice-rector for research at the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University Denis Rebrikov and others.
Following the 2022 elections, 25 academicians and 43 corresponding members were elected to the Department of Medical Sciences. Among those who received the honorary title were Aidar Ishmukhametov, General Director of the Chumakov Federal Scientific Center for Research and Development of Immunobiological Preparations; Oksana Drapkina, Chief Specialist in Therapy and General Medical Practice of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Director of the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Primary Care; and Denis Logunov, Deputy Director for Research at the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology.
