The key rate may fall to 15% by the end of 2025

The forecast was made by the head of the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets, Anatoly Aksakov
By the end of 2025, the Central Bank of Russia's base key rate could fall by another two percentage points, that is, to 15%, according to Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets.
According to the deputy, the Bank of Russia chose a cautious tactic, lowering the rate by one percentage point, to 17%, in order to consolidate the downward trend in inflation and simultaneously stimulate economic activity.
Aksakov believes that if events develop favorably this year, the rate could reach 14% or lower. The final decision will depend on inflation indicators and budget parameters.
According to TASS, the rate of growth of consumer prices has been slowing since spring, and in the summer this process became more pronounced, which allowed the regulator to lower the key rate for the third time in a row.
