Robert Preston Morris, former pastor and spiritual adviser to US President Donald Trump, who founded a large evangelical church, has pleaded guilty to sexual assault charges involving a minor. The Oklahoma Attorney General's Office released a statement.

According to official records, Morris, the founder of a megachurch in Texas, entered into a plea deal and pleaded guilty to five counts of child molestation. The crimes were committed in the 1980s. As part of the court-approved plea agreement, the defendant was sentenced to 10 years of probation, the first six months of which he will serve in the Osage County Jail.

According to the indictment, the incident that marked the beginning of the long-term persecution occurred in December 1982. Then, 21-year-old Morris, who was in Oklahoma on a preaching mission, sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl in Hominy. The preacher continued these unlawful acts against the same victim over the next four years.
