US President Donald Trump should begin nuclear weapons talks with Russia, according to Daryl Kimball, executive director of the Arms Control Association (ACA), RBC reports .
"If Donald Trump is truly concerned about Russian nuclear weapons, he should start serious negotiations with his Russian counterparts," he noted.
According to Daryl Kimball, the goal of such a dialogue could be to maintain restrictions on the nuclear arsenals of the United States and Russia, as well as to develop specific measures to prevent a nuclear confrontation. At the same time, he emphasized that none of the leaders of the leading powers should threaten others with a nuclear attack, because this could lead to a global catastrophe.
Earlier, Donald Trump named the purpose of transferring two nuclear submarines to Russia. He linked this decision with ensuring the safety of Americans.
