Russian schoolchildren warned about dangerous deals on social networks

State Duma: Fraudsters are actively buying up schoolchildren's social media accounts

Fraudsters have begun actively buying up schoolchildren's accounts on social networks under various pretexts. This was reported to RIA Novosti by State Duma deputy Anton Nemkin.
According to the parliamentarian, the attackers offer children a certain amount for a page, stating that they are going to do SEO promotion. After that, these accounts can distribute prohibited information or phishing links.
“Fraudsters can explain their desire to purchase an account by its allegedly high ‘promotion’, which they will subsequently use for advertising purposes, including for SEO promotion,” Nemkin noted.
The deputy admitted that children often do not even understand what the scammers write to them when they see the amount they are offered for the purchase. In this case, it turns out the same as with droppers, who provide criminals with their bank card details for a percentage.
Nemkin also reminded that such "deals" may result in liability. Therefore, he called on parents, educational institutions and law enforcement agencies to strengthen prevention. The people's representative noted that fraudsters increasingly attack children, since they have not yet developed critical thinking.
Earlier, MK wrote that a manual with questions that Ukrainian scammers use became known.
