MOSCOW, August 2 - RIA Novosti. The shooting at a bar in the city of Anaconda in the American state of Montana, which resulted in the death of four people, was likely carried out by a former soldier with mental problems, the Associated Press reports, citing police. Earlier, CNN, citing law enforcement, reported that four people were killed in the shooting. "Law enforcement is searching for the suspect, whom his niece described as a former American soldier who had difficulty getting (medical - ed.) help due to mental health issues," the publication says. According to the suspect's niece, Claire Boyle, she and other relatives of the suspect have repeatedly tried to help Brown, who had mental health problems "for years." "We're not talking about a person who's lost their minds on alcohol or drugs. This is a sick person who sometimes doesn't understand who he is, and often where he is and when," Boyle said of Brown's condition. Citing the Montana Highway Patrol, the agency warns that the suspect, 45-year-old Michael Paul Brown, is likely armed. It is noted that special forces searched Brown's home, which was located next to the bar where the shooting took place. It is also known that Brown was last seen west of Anaconda in the Stump Town residential area. U.S. Army Lt. Col. Ruth Castro told the agency that Brown served in the Army from 2001 to 2005 and spent about a year in Iraq, after which he served in the Montana National Guard from 2006 to 2009, retiring with the rank of sergeant.
