In St. Petersburg, parents burned the body of a child who died after a home birth

A resident of St. Petersburg and her partner were detained on suspicion of involvement in the death of a newborn child. According to preliminary information, the baby was born alive, but soon died, and his body was placed in a barrel and burned.
A terrible incident occurred in a private house on Berezovaya Street in Aviagorodok, the Operational Coverage news agency reports. According to investigators, a 44-year-old woman from St. Petersburg gave birth to a child at home on June 12. On July 9, the mother noticed that the baby was not showing signs of life and told her partner, a 28-year-old man, about what had happened.
The press service of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg noted that the parents, instead of reporting the incident to the police, tried to hide the child's death. The child's mother also did not contact medical or children's institutions.
The body of the deceased child was burned by his father in a barrel on the property. A criminal case was opened on the fact of the incident under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence).
Earlier it was reported that in St. Petersburg a negligent mother fractured the skull of her three-month-old daughter.
