Comments by a number of European countries and NATO about their readiness to send troops to Ukraine are false. In reality, none of them will do this, said American political commentator and radio host Steve Gill, TASS reports.
"The conflict exposes serious disagreements within the EU and NATO. Despite bold statements about the readiness of 26 countries to send troops to Ukraine, several key countries have already publicly refused, showing that it was all a bluff," the expert noted.
Gill also expressed the opinion that opportunities for bilateral cooperation between Russia and the United States in the economy and the implementation of joint projects in the Arctic could be missed due to the continued supply of weapons to Ukraine, as well as statements about the possibility of strengthening anti-Russian sanctions.
On September 4, it became known that the head of France Emmanuel Macron said that 26 countries of the "coalition of the willing" expressed their readiness to send troops to Ukraine. According to him, they expect to finally agree on the US contribution to ensuring security guarantees in the near future.
In turn, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the military contingent of NATO countries on the territory of Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russian troops.
