Bridge explosion in Bryansk region: what is known about the collapse

On May 31 at 22:44, while passenger train No. 86 Klimov-Moscow was moving in the Bryansk region, a bridge span collapsed above it. Several carriages derailed, one of them was crushed by the collapsed structure.

The Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office reported the collapse of the overpass. The mention of "illegal interference" was later removed . War correspondent Yevgeny Lisitsyn said that residents of a nearby village heard two powerful explosions seconds before the collapse . In the morning, on the air of the Russia-24 TV channel, the version about the bridge being blown up was confirmed by the Governor of the Bryansk Region, Alexander Bogomaz .

“There was an explosion on the bridge on the highway while the Klimov-Moscow train was moving, which had 388 passengers on board,” he said (quoted by TASS ).

According to current information, 66 people, including three children, were injured as a result of the bridge explosion in the Bryansk region. Three of the injured, including a child, are in serious condition. 47 people were hospitalized. According to the governor, seven people died as a result of the emergency. An emergency headquarters has been set up at the scene of the tragedy.
