In front of a packed gymnasium - tickets sold out in less than 10 minutes after going on sale - Vôlei Renata won the fifth São Paulo Men's Volleyball Championship title in its history by defeating Suzano 3 sets to 0 - partial scores of 25-21, 25-16, 25-20 -, on the night of this Friday (17/10), at the Taquaral gymnasium, in Campinas (SP), ending the decisive playoff with two victories.
The Campinas team also won the first leg, on Tuesday, in Suzano by 3-0. The team managed by Horacio Dileo finishes the State Championship without losing a set in front of its fans.
Vôlei Renata won the State Championship in the 2020, 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025 editions. Suzano is the biggest winner of the Paulista de Vôlei in history with 10 titles (1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2007 and 2008) and reached the last three State decisions.
Dileo maintained the starting lineup from the last few games with setter Bruninho, opposite hitter Bruno Lima, middle blockers Judson and Matheus Pinta, outside hitters Adriano and Maurício Borges, and libero Lukinha. Cezar Douglas had opposite hitter Guilherme Sabino and middle blocker Pedrosa back from injury, and fielded the visiting team with setter Gabriel Bieler, Sabino, middle blockers Léo and Maicon Leite, outside hitters Robert and Gabriel Pessoa, and libero Luizinho.
Vôlei Renata dominated the match from start to finish. Cezar Douglas used the bench, but Suzano never threatened Campinas' dominance in this final. The home team set a strong pace on the serve and made Suzano's passing and sideout difficult. In the second set, the match was even until Adriano served and opened up a 5-point lead (15-10).
