Venezuela receives 324 more migrants deported from Mexico

The flight, which carried 140 children, 101 women and 83 men, took place as part of the Gran Misión Plan Vuelta a la Patria (Great Mission Return to the Homeland) program.
“From the facilities of Simón Bolívar International Airport, in Maiquetía [north of Caracas], the Venezuelan State authorities applied previously established protocols to this new group of Venezuelans, which guarantee the protection of their human rights and integrity,” explains the MIJ.
According to Venezuelan authorities, this is the second repatriation flight this week, after more than 200 Venezuelans were deported from the United States on Wednesday.
According to local media, the Venezuelans repatriated from Mexico crossed the Darién, the dangerous jungle that divides Colombia and Panama, having traveled through Central America and reached the southern border of the United States, where they were stopped by US authorities.
Washington and Caracas reached an agreement in late January to resume repatriation flights for Venezuelans deported from the US , following a visit to Caracas by Donald Trump's special envoy to Caracas, Richard Grenell. Since then, according to Venezuelan authorities, 41 repatriation flights have been carried out.
"It is worth noting that, to date, the Gran Misión Plan Vuelta a la Patria has enabled the return of more than seven thousand Venezuelan men and women, who are returning to continue building a future with their families ," explains the MIJ.
On Thursday, protesters took to the streets of Caracas to “demand the freedom” of 22 children who Venezuelan authorities say are being kidnapped by the Donald Trump administration.
Carrying Venezuelan signs and flags, Venezuelans marched from Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda Park in eastern Caracas to Venezuela Square near the center of the capital.
Venezuelans also called for the release of hundreds of Venezuelans who were deported from the US and sent to a high-security prison in El Salvador since March 15, “ without the right to defense or due process.”
On July 1, Venezuela's parliament criticized the silence of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk on 252 migrants he said were kidnapped in El Salvador and 18 minors he described as being detained in the United States.
