Marcus D'Almeida shines at the end and wins silver medal at the Archery World Championships

After a campaign that saw him finish only 32nd in the qualifying round, Brazilian Marcus D'Almeida bounced back in the decisive round and shone at the World Archery Championships , winning the silver medal in the individual recurve event. The competition was decided in Gwangju, South Korea, on Tuesday, the 11th.
The campaign rewarded the Brazilian competitor's resilience. In a tight final, Spaniard Andres Temiño prevailed, finishing first with a 10-9 tiebreaker.
Satisfied to establish himself as one of the biggest names in the sport, the Brazilian said in an interview with Olympics about this latest achievement for the national sport.
"I'm very happy. It's three consecutive World Championship medals, six years at the top of the world. So, I know how difficult it is. And everyone knows, actually. And I wanted the gold, but this time it wasn't possible. I won't lack opportunities in my life," he declared.
In addition to his individual brilliance, D'Almeida also participated in the team competition and once again made a significant contribution. Alongside Matheus Ely and Matheus Gomes, the 27-year-old Rio native helped lead the Brazilian team to its best-ever finish: fourth.
When asked about his expectations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, he was direct in his response. "I hope to win all the world medals between now and then. I have high expectations for myself," he commented.
