Manuel Marques accused of domestic violence

Actor Manuel Marques, a well-known figure in national theatre, cinema and television, has been accused of domestic violence by his 18-year-old daughter. The information, revealed on CMTV's Noite das Estrelas programme, was confirmed by Observador with the PSP National Command.
The complaint was reportedly filed on May 21 at a PSP police station in Cascais by Inês, 18 years old — the eldest of Manuel Marques' two daughters, the result of a former relationship with Ana Martins —, where she left a “long statement, lasting a few hours, and quite detailed”, according to the program Análise Criminal , on SIC.
Furthermore, Ana Martins confirmed to the channel that the complaint had been filed, stating that it was a “delicate and painful moment”. On the TVI program Dois às 10 , Cristina Ferreira gave more details about the case, including that the 50-year-old actor was “in shock” about the situation, as he had not yet been notified and only became aware of the case through the news, writes Correio da Manhã .
According to Jornal de Notícias , it was the mother who took custody of Inês and her sister Elisa, aged 10, after the separation, which took place in 2021, with Manuel Marques having the right to alternate weekends with his daughters.
Observador contacted the Public Prosecutor's Office to confirm whether a case has already been opened, but has not received a response to date.
A regular on Portuguese screens, Manuel Marques was, until recently, part of the cast of the comedy series Cá por Casa , on RTP, and the soap opera Festa é Festa , on TVI.
