WhatsApp is developing a new feature that leverages the app's Artificial Intelligence technology to help users write messages.
The information was provided by the website WABetaInfo , which suggests that the feature will be called Writing Help and that it was spotted in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android operating systems.
Writing Help uses Meta's Private Processing to ensure that all information processed by the company's Artificial Intelligence remains encrypted and therefore secure. The publication states that Writing Help can be used by users to 'refine' their message to achieve the appropriate tone.
The publication states that, once a message is written, WhatsApp's AI will be able to suggest three different options from five "tones" already available through Meta. You may receive a suggestion that improves the structure and clarity of the message without altering its meaning, or simply corrects the grammar and spelling of what you just wrote.
You can also apply a professional tone for a more formal message, a more humorous tone, or even a more empathetic tone if you need to send a message to comfort or motivate someone. Once these suggestions are received, the user can choose the changes and replace the original message.
The Writing Help feature is still in the testing phase, so it will take a while before it becomes available to all users. However, given Meta's continued investment in Artificial Intelligence, it's speculated that it won't be long before this (completely optional) feature is rolled out to WhatsApp.
