The Chamber aims for a 'peaceful' agenda and will have a committee to discuss a proposal against the 'adultification' of children.

House Speaker Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB) will establish a general committee to develop a bill with measures to combat " adultification " and protect children and adolescents in the digital environment. The committee's creation was the topic of a meeting with leaders on Tuesday, the 12th.
Representatives are also expected to vote this week on an urgent request to expedite the processing of Bill 2628/2022. Authored by Senator Alessandro Vieira (MDB-SE), the bill provides for the adoption of measures aimed at parental control over content, content filters, and data protection, as well as obligations for internet providers, applications, and product suppliers.
The debate in the Chamber takes place in light of the repercussions of a video by YouTuber Felipe Bressanim Pereira, known as Felca, in which he talks about the exploitation of minors in the creation of content on the internet.
In the post, which has already accumulated more than 31 million views, Felca also shows how algorithms deliver this type of post to pedophiles.
Following the backlash, Motta stated that he would analyze the proposals currently under consideration . "This is an urgent issue that touches the heart of our society. Thank you, Felca. Count on the Chamber to advance the defense of children," the head of the House wrote on social media on Sunday.
According to party leaders, the general committee aims to bring together, in addition to representatives, experts in the defense of children and adolescents. The group will have 30 days to analyze the dozens of proposals currently under consideration in the Chamber of Deputies and formulate a consensus text.
Felca's video also sparked a rare alignment between left-wing and right-wing parties , especially after a week of tension over the Bolsonaro-supported occupation of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. More than 60 senators, from Lula's Workers' Party (PT) to Jair Bolsonaro's PL (Project of the Legislative Assembly), joined forces and filed a request for a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) to investigate the adultification of children and adolescents online.
