Ryanair pilot faints on Barcelona-Porto flight

The pilot of a Ryanair plane flying from Barcelona to Porto suffered a fainting spell during the flight this Sunday morning, but recovered and the plane landed on schedule, an official source from INEM told Lusa.
Speaking to Lusa, a source from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) confirmed that he received an alert at 8:19 am that a pilot on a Ryanair plane bound for Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, in the Porto district, had suffered “a rapid recovery syncope” during the flight and that he “apparently recovered during the flight”.
An ambulance from the Moreira da Maia Fire Department and a Medical, Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) from the Pedro Hispano Hospital went to Sá Carneiro Airport, the same INEM source said.
“The pilot received assistance on site, but refused to go to the hospital and remained at the airport,” said the same INEM source.
INEM also reported that the flight in which the pilot suffered syncope was scheduled to arrive in Porto at 8:35 am.
Data from the ANA Airport website indicates that the only Ryanair flight that arrived at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport from Barcelona (Spain) in the morning was flight FR 4587, which arrived at Terminal 1 at 8:35 am.
Flight FR 4587 was not delayed and passengers have already disembarked.
Lusa contacted a source at ANA Aeroportos, but has so far been unable to obtain any clarification on this episode.
