Gmail will now show summaries of long emails

Google Workspace users on iOS and Android will now be able to see AI-generated summaries of emails in their inboxes. Google already had a similar feature for Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, and Gmail, but users had to manually select the option to generate the summary. Now, the summary appears at the top of the email, as soon as the message is opened.
According to Engadget , the system will be able to present the key points of the message or set of messages and the summary will be regenerated whenever more responses arrive, thus always staying up to date. At this stage, the functionality will only be available for messages written in English and users must have the smart features enabled in Gmail, Chat, Meet and Workspace.
For now, there is no indication from Google about whether the new feature will reach accounts outside of Workspace and Gmail on the computer, outside of the mobile app. The option to “Summarize this email” is already available to a wider range of users.
Remember that this is just one of the many new features related to Artificial Intelligence in Gmail: Gemini can now help you write new messages, find relevant information in your inbox and there is the option of Personalized Smart Responses, where the user can consult an automatically written proposal that takes into account past emails and the tone of the response.
