Cinemateca and Cinema Nimas dedicate film series to Diane Keaton.

The Portuguese Cinematheque and the Cinema Nimas, both in Lisbon, have scheduled tribute cycles for November to the American actress Diane Keaton, who died this month, with screenings of films such as Annie Hall .
The Diane Keaton cycle at Cinema Nimas begins on Friday and includes screenings of four films starring the actress and directed by Woody Allen.
That theater, on its official website , recalls that the actress and the director, "together, made the most beautiful films of their lives," which will be screened until November 24th.
They are: Manhattan , from 1979, Annie Hall , from 1977, which earned Diane Keaton an Oscar for Best Actress, Manhattan Murder Mystery , from 1993, and Intimacy , from 1978.
The Cinematheque's In Memoriam Diane Keaton cycle begins on November 3rd and includes screenings of two films starring Diane Keaton and one directed by her.
Annie Hall, Morning Glory (2010), by Roger Mitchell, and Crossing Lines (2000), by Diane Keaton, were the films chosen by the Portuguese Cinematheque.
According to information available on the Cinematheque's official website , the cycle runs until November 28th.
Diane Keaton died on October 11th , at the age of 79, in the United States.
Born Diane Hall in Los Angeles in 1946, Diane Keaton rose to fame in the 1970s as Kay Adams in Francis Ford Coppola's Godfather trilogy, and for her various roles in Woody Allen films, including Annie Hall , for which she won an Oscar in 1977.
Known primarily for her work in film, she took her first steps in theater.
After dropping out of college, she moved from Los Angeles to New York to begin her professional acting career, adopting her mother's maiden name: Keaton.
In 1968 he was part of the cast of Hair on Broadway. His next job, also on Broadway, was in the play Play it again, Sam , by and with Woody Allen. The role in the play, which premiered in 1969, earned him a Tony Award nomination.
At that time, the actress and the director began a relationship that lasted about three years. Furthermore, they worked together on eight films ( The Great Conqueror , a film adaptation of the play Play It Again, Sam , The Hero of the Year 2000, Neither War Nor Peace, Annie Hall, Intimacy, Manhattan, Radio Days, and Manhattan Murder Mystery).
Diane Keaton's big screen debut was in Cy Howard's Honeymoon with Nettles , a film released in 1970.

Diane Keaton wasn't always in front of the cameras. In the 1980s, she made her directorial debut, directing the music video for Belinda Carlisle's song "Heaven Is a Place on Earth ." Later, she directed episodes of television series such as Twin Peaks, China Beach , and Pasadena , as well as other music videos and the film Crossed Lines .
Diane Keaton has published three autobiographies: Then Again , in 2011; Let's Just Say It Wasn't Pretty , in 2015; and Brother and Cister , in 2020. None have been translated into Portuguese.
In 1980 he also published Reservations , a photography book, an activity he had been involved in since the 1970s, and in 2022 Saved: My Picture World , a visual autobiography.
In a 2019 interview with People magazine, reflecting on her career, she said: “I know nothing and I haven’t learned anything. Getting older hasn’t made me any wiser. Without acting, I would have been a misfit.”
