Camila Rebelo qualified for the semi-finals of the 200 backstroke

Portuguese swimmer Camila Rebelo qualified this Friday for the semi-finals of the 200-meter backstroke at the Singapore 2025 World Swimming Championships, completing the heats with the ninth best time of 2:09.79 minutes.
Rebelo, European champion at this distance in 2024, managed to be among the 16 best in the world and, this Friday, will swim for access to the final, at 12:21 pm in Lisbon, and was third in the fourth and penultimate heat.
Although far from the national record, which she set in the Belgrade final in 2:08.95, the 22-year-old Portuguese achieved the fourth best national time ever and secured the semi-finals in a heat in which Australian Kaylee McKeown, two-time Olympic champion at the distance in Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, was the fastest, with 2:08.01, more than half a second faster than all the others.
This morning, Diogo Ribeiro will seek new qualification for the semi-finals, after having already done so, at the opening of the session, in the 100-meter butterfly, this time in the 50 freestyle, while Diana Durães seeks access to the final in the 800 freestyle.
