According to the PSD website, the Festa do Pontal will take place, as is tradition, on Calçadão de Quarteira (municipality of Loulé), and will feature a performance by musician Toy, after the political interventions.
The speeches will be given by the leader of the PSD/Algarve and candidate for the Faro City Council, Cristóvão Norte, and the party president and Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro.
About two weeks later, on August 31, Montenegro will close the party's Summer University, a training initiative for young people that has been running since 2003, jointly promoted by the PSD, JSD, the Francisco Sá Carneiro Institute and the European People's Party.
For a week, from August 25th to 31st, in Castelo de Vide (Portalegre), around one hundred young people between the ages of 18 and 30 receive "classes" from PSD cadres, independents or even personalities from other parties on various areas.
This year's program will only be announced in mid-August.
Last year, speakers included former PSD president and now presidential candidate Luís Marques Mendes, European Commissioner Maria Luís Albuquerque, MEP Sebastião Bugalho, and several ministers, such as Paulo Rangel, Margarida Balseiro Lopes, and Pedro Duarte, who, however, did not join the second AD executive to run for president of Porto City Council.
The 2025 Summer University will take place approximately one month before the start of the local election campaign, scheduled for October 12, and five months before the presidential elections, in January 2026.
