Paulo Alves is running again for the Monchique council

The Political Commission of the Socialist Party of Monchique unanimously approved, on Thursday night, the heads of the list for the 2025 local elections in the municipality, with emphasis on the re-candidacy of Paulo Alves for the presidency of the Municipal Council of Monchique .
The current mayor , elected in 2021, will therefore be running for a second term with the aim of continuing the socialist project in the municipality.
José Gonçalo is running again for the Monchique Parish Council for a third term, while Eleutério Torrado, who won in 2021, is once again running for the Marmelete Parish Council.
The Socialist candidacy for the Alferce Parish Council will be led by Nuno Guerreiro, the current president of the Parish Assembly. The list for the Municipal Assembly will be led by Graça Mira, a lawyer, who returns to the local government body she previously served on.
The socialist structure also chose Professor Graça Batalim as its candidate, with a distinguished civic and political career in the municipality, where she served as parish council president, councilor and municipal deputy.
The PS's candidacy for the 2025 Local Elections in Monchique is undertaken with "determination and commitment", committed to "continuing to make Monchique better", the party's local structure highlighted in a statement.
