Némanus and Blaya perform at the Watermelon Festival in Ladoeiro

The Watermelon Festival returns to Ladoeiro, in the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, from Friday to Sunday, and is headlined by Némanus and Blaya.
The Watermelon Festival pays tribute to local agricultural culture and, for three days, celebrates watermelon as the seasonal fruit in the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova. Throughout the three days, the event will feature musical performances, gatherings, street entertainment, exhibitions of agricultural machinery and regional products, live cooking sessions, competitions, and watermelon races.
On Saturday, the highlight is the traditional Watermelon Carving competition, with prizes for the top three participants. There will also be live cooking demonstrations, challenge singing, and the weighing and awarding of the prize for the heaviest watermelon. That evening, Némanus will perform at 11:30 PM.
On Friday, at 7:30 p.m., the event opens with the discussion "Life Stories — Watermelon Culture," which brings together testimonies from the people of Ladoeiro. This is followed by a Grand Fado Night at 10:00 p.m., and, starting at 11:30 p.m., Blaya takes the stage.
The final day of the festival, Sunday, features more live cooking sessions, the popular watermelon races, and performances by several traditional music groups. The festival closes at 10:00 PM with a special desgarrada singing session featuring Portugal's finest.
The Watermelon Festival is organized by the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, Idanha-a-Nova and the Parish Council of Ladoeiro.
