Moraes wants daily updates on the ankle bracelets of Mauro Cid, Collor and Daniel Silveira

Justice Alexandre de Moraes ordered this Wednesday, the 1st, that the Supreme Federal Court receive daily updates on the use of electronic ankle monitors by several individuals under investigation. Among those targeted for monitoring are former President Fernando Collor , sentenced to prison for corruption, and Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid .
The order applies to the prisons that implement the monitoring measures. The judge, who is reporting on several investigations involving those being monitored, wants to prevent irregularities in the enforcement of precautionary measures, which include the use of electronic ankle monitors. See the targets:
- Chiquinho Brazão (no party affiliation, Rio de Janeiro), federal deputy suspected of ordering the murder of Councilwoman Marielle Franco, was arrested last year, along with his brother Domingos Brazão and former Rio de Janeiro Civil Police chief Rivaldo Barbosa, on suspicion of ordering the murder of the congresswoman and her driver Anderson Gomes. In July 2025, Moraes granted him house arrest.
- Fernando Collor, former president and senator: convicted by the Supreme Federal Court in 2023, was arrested in April of this year and received the benefit days later based on his health condition. He is serving an 8-year and 10-month sentence for passive corruption and money laundering in the BR Distribuidora case.
- Filipe Martins, former special advisor to the Presidency: a defendant in the coup, was arrested by the Federal Police as part of Operation Tempus Veritati, targeting an attempt to annul the 2022 elections through a coup d'état. He has been under house arrest in Ponta Grossa, Paraná, since the beginning of the year.
- Daniel Silveira, former congressman: The former military police officer was sent to prison after being convicted in April 2022 of threats to the rule of law and coercion during the trial. He received a pardon signed by then-President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), but the pardon was later overturned in court. On Monday the 29th, he was transferred to an open prison regime, wearing an ankle monitor.
- Roberto Jefferson, former congressman and honorary president of the PTB (Workers' Party): In May, Moraes granted the former far-right congressman humanitarian house arrest . Jefferson is serving his sentence in Comendador Levy Gasparian Prison in Rio de Janeiro. In late 2024, the Supreme Federal Court sentenced Jefferson to nine years in prison for slander, homophobia, incitement to crime, and attempting to impede the free exercise of powers.
- Mauro Cid, Jair Bolsonaro's former aide-de-camp: The lieutenant colonel was sentenced to two years in open prison as part of the coup plot after his plea bargain was validated by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) . Cid was arrested in March 2024, when the Supreme Federal Court found he had violated precautionary measures and obstructed justice by leaking audio recordings to the press. With the confirmation of his plea bargain in September of that year, he was placed under house arrest.
- Anderson Torres, former Minister of Justice: Torres was arrested on January 14th, by order of Moraes, on suspicion of omission during the anti-democratic protests. On that date, Jair Bolsonaro's former minister had returned from the United States, where he had stayed during the protests in Brasília. In May, his preventive detention was revoked and he began being monitored with an ankle monitor.
