Montenegro says Marcelo will play his role in the immigration law

The Prime Minister said this Sunday that the President of the Republic will exercise the role conferred upon him by the Constitution regarding immigration law. Luís Montenegro reaffirmed that the dialogue with the opposition "does not include any governance agreement."
“The President of the Republic will make an assessment [of the immigration law], a consideration that is simultaneously political and legal, and will exercise the powers granted to him by the Constitution,” he stated.
The Prime Minister, also leader of the PSD's national structure, assured that the executive branch is available to negotiate with all parties, but this "does not include any permanent governance agreement."
"It includes the ability to approach all available parties in all diplomas," he explained, quoted by the Lusa news agency.
"Obviously, we know that there are many issues on which the Socialist Party shares similar positions with us, and then there are other issues on which the Socialist Party is somewhat stubborn regarding the positions it has held during its eight years in government," Montenegro emphasized.
