Local elections: PSD supports Manuel Marreiros' candidacy for Aljezur City Council

The Faro District Political Committee of the Social Democratic Party ( PSD ), in conjunction with Aljezur activists, decided to make public its option to support Manuel Marreiros' candidacy for president of the Aljezur Municipal Council , representing the independent Renascer movement.

"Considering that a change in that Algarve municipality is desirable and very necessary, PSD Algarve will not present lists to any local authority in Aljezur," the Political Commission informs in a press release sent to the barlavento newsroom.

In this sense, it “recommends that all its members and supporters support Renascer’s candidacy.

For Cristóvão Norte, president of PSD Algarve, this decision is based on the conviction that Manuel Marreiros represents an opportunity for transformation for the municipality of Aljezur.

Norte believes that "Manuel Marreiros is a man who fights for his land, a communicator, with a strong civic sense and a strong capacity for achievement. For our part, it is crucial that we unite our voices in favor of the change this municipality urgently needs."

Cristóvão Norte adds that this is a "positive candidacy, and we are in politics for the positive. Doing good and the best for the municipality is what we hope for, and we are confident that Manuel Marreiros and his team will respond well."

Rui Marreiros, a member of the PSD Aljezur party, also expressed his support for Manuel Marreiros' candidacy, emphasizing his knowledge of the local situation and the needs of the area: "Everyone here knows Manuel Marreiros and knows that he has always been a great fighter in solving the problems of the municipality and its people. Manuel Marreiros is the best solution to face the difficult times Aljezur is going through."
