Leak exposes Prime Minister's cell phone numbers

Australian authorities are investigating an internet portal that published the mobile phone numbers of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and other Australian politicians, the government announced on Tuesday.
The US-based website provides free access to data and claims to compile contacts using artificial intelligence from social media and professional portals.
"This is a cause for concern and we are working to resolve the issue," said Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles, adding that the government is aware of the incident and has notified the appropriate authorities.
Australian opposition leader Sussan Ley, who claimed to have learned of the leak through social media, has already requested the immediate removal of her personal data from the portal.
It is not known how long the numbers have been available online.
Other politicians, such as New South Wales Prime Minister Chris Minns, said they only recently learned of the leak and expressed concern about the exposure of personal information.
Australian authorities did not disclose the name of the US portal, but said the site accepts requests for data removal, although this does not happen immediately.
