Carlos Moedas promises housing projects, a new electric bus, and the end of diesel transport by 2030

The current mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, presented his candidacy for re-election this Wednesday. Estufa Fria was the venue for the presentation, which was attended by Prime Minister Luís Montenegro.
In his speech, the mayor promised several projects, including the "largest housing project Lisbon has seen in recent decades," the end of diesel transport in the city by 2030, and the 16 tram to connect Terreiro do Paço to Parque Papa Francisco.
Carlos Moedas, head of the PSD/CDS-PP/IL coalition, stated that the choice is simple, "but with enormous consequences: between moderation, the moderation that dreams and that acts, and radicalism, the radicalism that has already managed to undermine a large part of the PS and that has harmed the country so much, and that now they want to bring this failed model to our Lisbon."
"Between those who protest against the police and those who always defend the police and the safety of our city. Between those who want to divide and make the city worse and those who want to unite and ask everyone to do their best. Lisbon doesn't need radical adventures," he emphasized.
The local elections will take place on October 12th, and Carlos Moedas has as his opponents Alexandra Leitão (PS), João Ferreira (CDU), Carolina Serrão (BE), Ossanda Líber (New Right), José Pinto Coelho (Ergue-te), Bruno Mascarenhas (Chega) and José Almeida (Volt).
