Woman loses forehead in accident and warns about position in car

A woman who spent years without a forehead after a car accident raised awareness on social media about a common position people assume in cars. Irishwoman Grainne Kealy was involved in an accident in 2006. At the time, the vehicle she was traveling at 120 mph (190 km/h) hit a wall. Grainne was in the passenger seat with her feet on the dashboard, a common practice.
The impact of the crash forced Graine's knees into her face as the airbag deployed. The result was multiple facial and leg fractures. She also suffered a fluid leak in her brain, requiring lengthy treatment from a neurosurgeon.
Grainne told The Sun that she always gets nervous when she sees people with their feet on the dashboard. "I would hate for anyone else's family to have to get that awful phone call like mine did," she commented.
"My son came home from school last week and told me that one of his friends mentioned that he puts his feet on the dashboard when he's traveling in the car," she said. "My son was horrified, told him he shouldn't do that, and explained what could happen. It was a bittersweet moment, to be honest," she explains.
Grainne has been warning about the situation on social media : "I'm still recovering from my accident 18 years later. Please help raise awareness about the dangers of putting your feet on the dashboard. Trust me when I say it's not worth it."
