HPA Group performs the first Endoscopic Ear Surgery in Alvor

Otorhinolaryngology specialist at the HPA Saúde Group, Dr. Vânia Henriques, recently performed the first Endoscopic Ear Surgery at HPA Alvor, marking a significant advance in the surgical approach to middle ear pathologies.
This is an innovative, minimally invasive technique that is changing the way certain conditions are treated, such as eardrum perforation, serous otitis media/effusion ( glue ear ), cholesteatoma or small middle ear tumors.
Endoscopic Ear Surgery allows direct and detailed access to the internal structures of the ear through the ear canal, eliminating the need for external incisions.
This approach offers a faster recovery, with less pain, lower risk of complications and no visible scars.
This technique allows for a magnified, “high-definition” view of the middle ear, facilitating more precise interventions, even in anatomical areas that are difficult to access or visualize with a surgical microscope.
"With this innovation, the HPA Saúde Group reinforces its commitment to clinical excellence, surgical safety, and the adoption of the most advanced medical techniques, always putting the patient's well-being first," he said.
