Forget your wallet: Samsung Wallet is here

It's happened to everyone. Leaving the house in a hurry and leaving your wallet behind. Going back is almost always the only solution. After all, cards, passes, and identification documents are sorely missed in everyday life. But if you have a Samsung Galaxy, you don't have to worry anymore. And certainly not go back.
Samsung has just launched Samsung Wallet in Portugal, a comprehensive digital solution that brings together bank cards, tickets, digital keys, and travel passes in a single app. In other words, everything you'd normally store in a physical wallet, but in digital form.
With this service, you can use a single object—your smartphone—to pay bills, enter shows, board a plane, use loyalty cards, and even unlock your home or car doors. Yes, because this Wallet is also a key. So, going a day without touching your wallet is no longer a fantasy utopia. Just imagine.
You pick up your Samsung Galaxy in the morning, unlock it with your fingerprint, and in the Wallet app, you'll find all your cards stacked like cards in a deck. You leave the house and unlock your car with Samsung Wallet.
At lunchtime, you go to your favorite restaurant, pay with Samsung Pay—now integrated into Wallet—and, if applicable, receive points automatically added to your loyalty card. You take advantage of your lunch break to buy tickets for a show, and thanks to the partnership with MEO Blueticket, they're automatically added to your Wallet. In the afternoon, while preparing for a vacation, you add your plane boarding pass. In the evening, you unlock your front door with NFC or UWB with just a tap on the screen. And voilá .
Of course, this type of technology raises an immediate question: is Samsung Wallet secure? The answer is also immediate: yes. Samsung stores the Wallet's encrypted data in its security platform, the vault also known as Samsung Knox. Each card's data is replaced by "tokens" and can only be used through biometric (fingerprint) or PIN code unlocking. This means that even if the smartphone falls into the wrong hands, its contents are virtually impossible to access.
The app is available on devices from the Galaxy S20 series, Note 8, Z Flip/Fold, Galaxy A series A13 5G, and above. Access via Samsung Galaxy Watch will also be available before the end of this year. All in all, this technology brings less stress and more convenience, following a global trend: the dematerialization and digitization of what we use most in our daily lives. Like our wallets.
