"European stock markets gained traction throughout the morning, and most remain higher, in a session where investors await data on private employment creation and activity in services in the US, which could impact sentiment. Employment data will be closely monitored, after the Fed Chairman opened the door to interest rate cuts if the labor market continues to show signs of weakness," say Millennium BCP analysts.
"In the corporate world, Sanofi is falling by around 10% after an experimental treatment disappointed. This is because, although the treatment achieved all its objectives, the improvements were inferior to those of the leading drug on the market. The decline penalizes the CAC, which thus diverges from its European peers," they add.
In the Forex market, the euro fell 0.15% to $1.1645.
Brent oil falls 1.52% to $66.57.
