CGD guarantees compliance with rules for the temporary transfer of workers

Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD) pledged this Wednesday that it will comply with the company agreement (AE) regarding the payment of travel expenses for temporary transfers of employees between branches. The situation had prompted a union complaint.
“In Caixa’s understanding, whenever employees are temporarily allocated to another agency, regardless of the duration, the provisions of paragraph b) of number 9 of clause 44 [mobility] apply, where it is clear that the company will cover the travel expenses: “If it is impossible or inappropriate to use public transport schedules, the employee who uses his/her own vehicle will be reimbursed for the amount of 25% of the amount established in clause 61, no. 1, paragraph d)”, said the public bank.
CGD's response, cited by the Lusa news agency, comes after the Union of Workers of Caixa Geral de Depósitos Group Companies announced that it had filed a lawsuit against the bank for violating the AE rules.
The union accuses the bank's management of violating the company's collective agreement "regarding the payment of additional travel expenses" when workers are temporarily transferred from their workplace.
